Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has appealed for calm while addressing protesters in Jos following reports of a violent incident the previous night.
In videos circulating online, the governor was seen attempting to speak to a gathering crowd amid ongoing protests in the state capital.
“You people should remain calm so I can speak here. The attack that happened last night is very terrible, I didn’t even sleep after hearing about it,” he said.
