In other news, DJ and reality TV star Tolani Baj has addressed the backlash she received from an event promoter after missing her stage appearance at a recent show in Halifax, Canada.

In a public statement shared via her social media, Tolani Baj explained that although she was present and fully prepared to perform, a technical issue caused by the absence of a required sound check prevented her from getting on stage.

“I was booked for a show, I showed up excited and fully ready to perform there’s visible proof of that on my page,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, because a sound check wasn’t conducted (which is a standard part of my contract), a technical issue with the controller went unnoticed until it was time for me to play.”

She also noted that the initial day party had been postponed and moved to nighttime due to weather-related venue delays, which further complicated the situation. According to her, the problem could have been avoided if the sound check had taken place as agreed.

Reacting to the accusations of theft and unprofessionalism, Tolani Baj stated: “It’s quite disappointing to be called names or accused of theft when I was present at the venue and ready to deliver.”

She clarified that she received only 50% of her booking fee and accepted that as fair, given the circumstances.

Addressing claims that she blocked the promoter, she explained that the decision came after she received “derogatory comments” from him and his team on her Instagram, saying she made the move “for my mental peace.”

Despite the Halifax issue, Tolani Baj emphasized the overall success of her Canadian tour: “I’ve performed at 8 successful shows in Canada, all filled with love, energy, and proof of how good I am at my job.”

She ended her message with appreciation for her fans:

“To my supporters, I value you. Your support is what keeps me going. Thank you to everyone who continues to support me genuinely.”
