“Peter Obi Won’t Get Presidential Ticket in ADC, PDP or LP”- Bwala

  • Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday night, Bwala predicted Tinubu could secure up to two million votes from the region — at least four to six times more than the votes he recorded there in 2023.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, says he is confident the president will see a major boost in support from the South-East during the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday night, Bwala predicted Tinubu could secure up to two million votes from the region — at least four to six times more than the votes he recorded there in 2023.

“I guarantee you, President Bola Tinubu is going to get more than four times, if not six times, the value of the vote he got. He’ll get up to two million,” Bwala said.

When asked about the chances of achieving that target if Labour Party’s Peter Obi is on the ballot, Bwala insisted Obi’s influence had diminished, claiming the former Anambra governor might not even contest in 2027.

He alleged that Obi could end up as Director-General of the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC) and might struggle to secure a presidential or even vice-presidential ticket. According to Bwala, Obi has “lost more than 50% of his votes” because they were “built on rhetoric and division” rather than concrete political agenda.

Bwala further pointed to the recent defections of southern governors to the APC and endorsements from opposition governors as key factors that would boost Tinubu’s popularity and voting numbers in the South-East ahead of the polls.

In other news…. A light moment played out in the Big Brother Naija house when Head of House Tracy subtly moved Kulture’s hand away as they lay in bed.

Tracy, who recently won the HOH challenge, had chosen Kulture to share the lounge with her.

While they slept last night, Kulture stretched out his hand towards her, but a sleepy Tracy instinctively brushed it aside.
