Peter Obi Donates ₦50 Million to Christ the King College, His Alma Mater

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, in collaboration with fellow alumni, has contributed ₦50 million to Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha, the secondary school where he studied.

During a visit to the school on Thursday, Obi noted that the donation aims to support infrastructural development and create a better learning environment for students.

Sharing his thoughts on X, Obi described the contribution as a personal expression of appreciation to the institution that played a pivotal role in instilling discipline, academic focus, and strong moral values in him.

Obi wrote on X: “Today, I returned to my alma mater, Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, to present a ₦50 million donation in collaboration with some fellow Old Boys. The support is aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the learning environment.

“CKC helped shape the values guiding me: discipline, academic excellence, and moral grounding. Supporting this institution is a heartfelt act of gratitude.

“Education remains the most critical investment we can make for the future. It is the bedrock of national development, and our schools must be strengthened to produce responsible, competent citizens.”
