Nigerian singer Patoranking disclosed in a recent chat on Hitz FM that the first time he went to Ghana; he wanted to go to school, but his family couldn’t afford to pay the international student fee, which was in dollars.

17-year-old Patoranking was filled with joy after gaining admission to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in Ghana, little did he know he wouldn’t further his education.

Patoranking narrated that when he broke the admission news to his father, he didn’t take it with joy because his younger siblings were about to get into secondary school. The financial burden would be too much for his father, except his siblings would pause their education for Patoranking’s.

“My son, I know this is what you want—to further your education at UCC, but you have siblings. It will be nice to have them have a taste of secondary education,” he recounted.

The ‘Alubarika’ crooner stated he had no choice but to become a man instantly. He said he told himself the only thing he knew how to do that would change the face of his family was music.

The Nigerian superstar, Patoranking, has since moved from being a struggling musician in Ghana to become a prominent artiste on the continent of Africa, with his name inked as a fantastic performer in different countries of the world.
