Pastor Eno Jerry Eze has ignited online discussions after delivering a sermon about women’s behavior in romantic relationships.

During her message, the pastor stressed the importance of women showing respect and submission to their partners.

“Anything anybody want to tell you let them tell you but you see this one submission? We must submit ourselves as women. We must!” she urged, encouraging young women to maintain dignity and proper conduct around men.

Pastor Eze shared examples from her counseling sessions, describing situations where women exhibited blatant disrespect toward their partners in her presence.

“I see women, young girls, 28, 27, 32 when I’m counselling them if you see the way they are eying the man, if you see the disrespect in front of me… calling him ‘f00lish man’ in front of me, not behind me, and I look at them and I say if you can do this in my presence what will you be doing to him when you are alone?” she said.

The pastor’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions online. Some social media users support her stance, saying it reinforces respect and commitment in relationships, while others criticize it as outdated and overly patriarchal.

The conversation reflects broader debates in Nigeria over gender roles, morality, and expectations in romantic relationships. Many have questioned whether such advice aligns with contemporary ideals of equality and mutual respect.
