- He said the incident led to the breakdown of the marriage, which was later legally finalized at a customary court in Lagos in 2014.
The founder of Grace Nation Global, also known as Liberation City, Chris Okafor, has opened up about the reason his first marriage ended.
The cleric, who has been facing public scrutiny in recent times, spoke about the collapse of the marriage during an interview with Vanguard.
According to him, the relationship broke down after he discovered his wife with another man inside his home.
Okafor said the incident caused him deep pain and disappointment and eventually led to the end of the marriage.
He also revealed that his mother had pleaded with him to forgive his wife and move past the situation, but he found it difficult to continue with the relationship after what happened.
The pastor further disclosed that the divorce was later handled legally in Lagos.
He said the case was concluded at a customary court in the state on September 18, 2014, under suit number IKJCC0172014.
Speaking about the incident, Okafor said, “I divorced my first wife because I caught her with a man in my house and it was because of my mother that was saying, oh my son, forgive.”
