Nigerian clergyman Pastor E.A. Adeboye has stirred mixed reactions online following his recent monetary appeal during a church service.

Addressing his congregation, the RCCG founder announced plans for an urgent ₦30 billion church expansion project. He urged 10 members to contribute ₦1 billion each and 100 members to donate ₦100 million each.

“Right now, I need 10 of my children who can give us N1 billion each, and then I need 100 of my children who can give me N100 million each”.

In videos shared on TikTok by user iquestion.youquestion, he expressed disappointment over his life’s outcome, saying he regretted devoting so many years to the religion.

He stated, “I am the only person I know on planet earth who is saying this out loud, but I know I’m not the only person who has experienced it. Following Jesus Christ, Christianity, and the Bible for 60 years destroyed my life. I do not recommend it. Run.”

The man added that despite spending tens of thousands of hours praying and crying out for help, he never received any response. “I can’t even begin to count the tens of thousands of hours of suffering and crying out for help. Did Jesus not hear that? It was a big waste of time. Following Jesus Christ completely ruined my life. I don’t recommend it,” he said.
