The family of Tartenger Terdue James, a man from Benue State, is in panic after he was abducted by suspected kidnappers just five days before his scheduled wedding.
James was kidnapped on Tuesday evening, December 9, 2025, while he was traveling to Cross River State. He was reportedly going there to buy palm oil for his traditional marriage, which was set for Saturday, December 13, in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Relatives confirmed that the abductors are demanding a ransom of ₦3 million. The kidnappers have threatened to kill James and dump his body by the roadside if the money is not paid.
A relative, Charles Ayuwa, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on Thursday, writing, “My brother Hon. Tartenger Terdue James, it’s been two days already since you were kidnapped… May God protect you in the hands of your captors and further hasten your release ahead of your wedding this Saturday. Amen,”.
