Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has raised concerns over the quality of sanitary pads currently in the market, urging manufacturers to make improvements.

In a recent post on social media, she complained that most pads no longer stick well to underwear, making them uncomfortable and inconvenient to use. According to her, the adhesive strip on many brands has become so weak that it fails to keep the pad in place, causing frustration for users.

Phyna’s remarks quickly gained traction online, with numerous women echoing her sentiments and sharing similar experiences. Many agreed that the issue has been ongoing for a while but has often been overlooked. They noted that when pads do not stay in position, it can lead to discomfort, leakage, and embarrassment, especially in public spaces.

Like Phyna, these women are appealing to pad manufacturers to address the problem by increasing the amount or strength of the gum used on pads. They believe this adjustment will not only improve the product’s functionality but also boost confidence for women during their menstrual cycles.

The conversation has highlighted the importance of prioritising women’s comfort and health in menstrual hygiene product design.

She wrote: “To the companies that make sanitary pads, please help add small gum to the one you added to the pad, pads no longer stick to pants.”
