The Commissioner of Police in Abuja has addressed concerns following a viral video by content creator English Alhaji, which claimed that bandits had invaded parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

Reacting to the development, the police boss disclosed that the command swiftly acted on the video, deploying forensic investigators to verify the claim and track down its source.

According to him:

“Yesterday, a content creator posted a video claiming bandits invaded Abuja. When I saw it, our forensic investigators immediately tracked him and he was located and brought in to explain his claims.”

The CP’s statement comes amid rising concerns about misinformation on social media and its potential to cause panic among residents.

Authorities emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing, warning that false alarms could create unnecessary fear and disrupt public order.

The viral video had earlier sparked anxiety among residents of Abuja, with many expressing concern over security in the nation’s capital.

However, the police intervention appears to be part of efforts to curb the spread of unverified reports and maintain calm.

If they can track content creators this fast, why can’t they track terrorist?

@p_speller6
But you can track or trace Those bandit on Tiktok. This is the sign that all these people are working hand to hand with terrorists. They only channel their power against innocent citizens.

@x13Baraka
With this type of forensics, the police allow terrorists and bandits to roam around Nigeria causing mayhem and posts as this very guy they traced and caught did. What does this say about the police, their so-called intelligence & the criminals – patners in crime, sharing booties
