Barely few weeks Acting President Osinbajo visited the major oil producing communities in Imo State as part of resolve by the federal government to bring even- development to the Niger Delta areas, the good gesture as we gathered has split major oil producing communities who are alleging sabotage by the state government.
According to a youth leader from Izombe in Oguta local government area of the state who does not want his name mentioned, some communities are already protesting their alleged exclusion from the programme they attributed to bickering among politicians from the two oil producing council areas.
Consequently, some stakeholders after an enlarged meeting, has called on the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, to intervene and end the supremacy battle among the politicians, especially his appointees.
They alleged that the Acting President’s visit meant to engage stakeholders in the oil producing communities was hijacked by a section of the politicians and feared that the situation, if not urgently checked, could destroy the existing peace in the communities.
Meanwhile, Imo State House of Assembly has summoned the Deputy Chief of Staff to the state governor, Engr Kingsley Uju, to explain his alleged role in shutting out key stakeholders from the oil producing communities during the consultation visit to the state by the Acting President.
