“One Standard for North, Another for South”-Pastor Sarah Omakwu Criticises Security Approach Across Regions

  • Sarah Omakwu has alleged double standards in Nigeria’s security response between the North and South, sparking mixed reactions online.
  • She further alleged that security forces respond more aggressively to disturbances in the South-East compared to other regions.

Senior pastor Sarah Omakwu has sparked widespread reactions after alleging double standards in Nigeria’s security response across different regions.

In a statement circulating online, Omakwu expressed concern over what she described as unequal treatment in how authorities handle unrest in various parts of the country.

According to her, “There are two standards I see in Nigeria: one standard for the north and another standard for the south.”

She further alleged that security forces respond more aggressively to disturbances in the South-East compared to other regions.

“Whenever a few Igbo boys have gotten angry and reacted, they sent Air Force, Navy and Military to go and stop them. They take armored tanks to the east,” she said.

Omakwu contrasted this with what she claimed to be a lack of similar response in the North.

“But we see Fulani boys stand and speak on the internet, they say anything, do anything, and nothing moves. Instructions are given for nobody to move,” she added.

Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some Nigerians agreeing with her position while others criticised the generalisation and tone of her comments.

The conflict started when VeryDarkMan claimed that Blord had used his image on promotional billboards without permission, a situation that recently led to Blord being taken to Kuje Prison in Abuja.

During his performance, Phyno addressed VeryDarkMan indirectly, urging him with the words: “VDM, withdraw the case.” The crowd immediately recognized this as a plea for resolving the dispute amicably and placing peace above confrontation.

Phyno’s call for unity has sparked online discussions, with many fans commending him for leveraging his influence to promote understanding and calm tensions.
