Just a day earlier, the actor took to social media to announce the passing of his father, sharing a photo and offering a touching tribute that simply read: “Rest well, Dad.”
Following the announcement, tributes poured in from friends, fans, and fellow Nollywood stars who filled his comment section with condolence messages.
In a new post shared on his Instagram page, Odunlade posted a video showing a large crowd visiting his family home to offer their condolences. In his caption, he extended sincere thanks to those who have shown support during this difficult time.
“This morning again… A very big thank you to all my wonderful people in the industry. All our family friends, communities, churches, choirs, good women and men from every part of the country… And everyone who came to sympathise with us. Ese gan. Odun a jina si ra oooo.”
The Yoruba phrase “Odun a jina si ra” is a heartfelt prayer meaning “May we be far from sorrow.”
Odunlade’s public show of gratitude reflects the deep bond he shares with his fans and colleagues, many of whom have stood by him in this moment of loss.
