OAP Dotun estranged wife Taiwo risks jail term as she was charged with contempt, orders to pay fine

Dotun’s estranged wife, Taiwo Oyebanjo, has been charged with contempt for refusing to enable the OAP to see his children.

OAP Dotun’s ex-wife was found guilty of violating the court’s order on the couple’s joint custody of their children by a high court in Dukpa, Abuja.

It is worth noting that in suit No. GWD/PET/25/21, the court gave Dotun and his estranged wife shared custody of the children after Dotun requested it in April 2022 and both parties initially consented.

Despite the court’s order, Taiwo has refused to give her estranged spouse access to their children since December 2022, citing no reason. As a result, Dotun filed a lawsuit, resulting in a recent violent and serious social media battle between the two.

The court ruled that Taiwo’s reluctance to grant Dotun Kayode access to and custody of the children in December 2022 was a violation of the court’s order, and she was found guilty of it. The court also ordered Taiwo to pay the N200,000 fine within 30 days or face jail time.

According to sources, once the ruling was handed, Dotun’s ex-wife’s lawyers attempted to withdraw their representation.

For the trial, the matter was nevertheless moved to December 11th.
