A Nigerian nurse has shared a heartbreaking encounter with an eight-month pregnant woman who came to the hospital at night, saying she no longer wanted to continue her pregnancy.
TikTok user @nesssa055 narrated: “She came in last night, asked to speak with a nurse. Not even our patient. I took her aside and listened. Through tears, she said she no longer wanted to continue her pregnancy… eight months gone, oh boy.”
The woman revealed her boyfriend, the supposed father, never supported the pregnancy and his family also opposed it. “The father wasn’t supportive, he didn’t want the baby neither was his family. My heart broke. I told her we couldn’t help in that way, but I referred her to a counselor. If a man tells you he doesn’t want a baby, believe him. Mind you, the said father of the baby came with her. Nursing sometimes is just listening,” the nurse wrote.
Reacting further, she added: “Took her seven months to decide. She should live with the consequence of her actions.”
