Nigerian life coach and social media influencer Solomon Buchi has called on Pastor Chris Okafor to resign from ministry following allegations involving the cleric and his controversial wedding in December 2025.

Buchi made the call in a video shared on his Instagram page on December 28, 2025, where he criticised the pastor for continuing to preach despite the allegations raised by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.

According to Buchi, the pastor’s apology was not driven by genuine remorse but by the fear that his secrets were about to be exposed. He warned that the situation would escalate further, stating:

“He’s only sorry because his secrets are about to be spilled publicly. He’s only sorry because he knows that it’s going to get dirty and even dirtier.”

He questioned why Pastor Okafor proceeded with his wedding while serious unresolved issues were still hanging over him, stressing that a minister of the gospel should not move forward amid such controversy.

“With all due respect, I don’t know who joined him. As a minister of the gospel, you cannot have such controversy around you, around your ministry, around your wedding and still go ahead to get married.”

Buchi emphasised that controversy is harmful to pastoral leadership and that allegations affecting a minister’s integrity must be addressed promptly, especially when they reflect on the God they claim to serve.

He also noted that when Doris Ogala initially spoke out, many people dismissed her as unstable, despite the seriousness of her claims.

According to him, the allegations went beyond infidelity, including claims of links with fraudsters, which he described as dark and damaging. He added that the way the matter was handled made the accusations appear credible.

Buchi insisted that an apology alone was insufficient and maintained that Pastor Okafor should not be preaching under such circumstances.

He further criticised Pentecostal churches for operating as one-man structures without boards of elders to discipline erring leaders.

The social commentator added that pastors should step down once serious allegations emerge, pointing to testimonies allegedly made by the pastor’s own family, including his daughters speaking to VeryDarkMan (VDM), as evidence that he was unfit to lead.

“If your own children, if your own family can testify against you, you are not worthy to lead God’s people. It’s as simple as that.”

He concluded by firmly calling for Pastor Okafor to resign.

“Honestly, this guy should step down.”
