Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njemanze has made a heartfelt appeal for financial assistance as he battles prostate cancer.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the actor, currently hospitalized, called on the public for support to help cover the costs of urgent surgery. The video was also posted on Instagram by filmmaker Stanley Ontop, who disclosed the nature of Njemanze’s illness.
“Hello guys, one of our Nollywood legends is sick and needs urgent surgery,” Stanley said. “Sir Tom Njemanze has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he needs your support to undergo surgery. Nothing is too small, fam. Help our legend live again.”
Njemanze is well-known for his roles in several popular Nigerian films including Issakaba, Tokunboh, Atosa, Pounds and Dollars, Osuofia in London, Igbotic Love, and Brain Box.
His appeal comes just a few months after fellow actor John Amaefule also sought public assistance as he struggled with both partial stroke and cancer.
