Actor Prince Adewale Adeyemo, a veteran, has passed away.
After a brief illness, the Yoruba movie star Ademola Adeyemo allegedly passed away this morning, May 22, 2023.
The terrible news was just conveyed by his younger colleague Kunle Afod, who prayed that God would comfort his family and coworkers.
Sharing a photo of the deceased, Kunle Afod wrote:
“Hmmmm
God you know best
RIP Prince Ademola Adeyemo
He passed on the early hour of today after a brief illness.
God will comfort all his family friends and colleagues.”
In 2021, the veteran actor, Adeyemo was diagnosed with damage in his lung, liver, and kidney. He asked the public for funds and was able to undergo a successful surgery.
As another Nollywood actor lost her life yesterday, Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola has pleaded with God on the spate of fatalities affecting the Nigerian film industry.
According to reports, Wunmi Olowokandi, a second female star, passed away this night, causing more grief in Nollywood. Her death’s cause has not yet been made public.
Odunlade Adekola expressed his sorrow at the deceased’s passing while praising God’s might and asking Him to stop premature deaths in the Nollywood business.
“Unquestionable you are the LORD. I PRAY GOD WILL CLOSE THE DOOR OF UNTIMELY DEATH IN OUR INDUSTRY AND IN THE HOUSE OF EVERY ONE OF US. IN JESUS NAME.”
Another Nollywood actor, Chikezie Uwazie has passed on days after news of actors, Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi’s deaths made headlines.
Actress Obey Etok Chima who shared news of Uwazie’s death, said the actor who became a known face in the Nigerian movie industry in the 2000s, died after a second brain surgery.
Obey wrote;
“I CAN’T IMAGINE AM POSTING THIS. CHIKEZIE UWAZIE GONEEEEE. AFTER A 2ND BRAIN SURGERY. GINI NA EMEZI. AM SO SHOCKED TO GET THIS NEWS THIS EVENING. JUST GOT THIS FROM OUR IMSU ALUMNI PLATFORM. I THOUGHT YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE GOING TO THE STATES FOR GREENER PASTURES. YOU PROMISED TO COME BACK SOME YEARS BACK BUT I DIDN’T SEE YOU. CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ARE GONE BUT GOD KNOWS BEST. REST ON CHYKO”
Popular actor of Yoruba movies, Murphy Afolabi, is dead. He died on Sunday morning. This is coming less than 24 hours after the news filtered out about the death of a popular Nollywood actor, Saint Obi.
No details yet about the circumstances surrounding Afolabi’s death, however, a colleague of the deceased in the Yoruba subsector of the Nollywood, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, has confirmed the sad news.
Ola-Yusuf, a well-known actor, director and producer, took to his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon to mourn Afolabi.
