Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, recently met with Senator Ned Nwoko after winning their fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title.
Nwoko praised the team for their historic victory over Mali in Abidjan, noting the importance of investing in Nigerian sports.
“It was a pleasure meeting with the phenomenal D’Tigress team — our national champions who have made history once again by clinching their fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title,” Nwoko wrote on August 23, 2025, on social media.
