- Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, has sparked controversy after suggesting during a programme on Africa Independent Television that Nigeria should invite the United Kingdom to recolonize the country if the government cannot solve its problems.

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Buba Galadima, has stirred controversy after suggesting that Nigeria should consider being recolonized by United Kingdom.
Galadima made the remark on Thursday while speaking during a programme on Africa Independent Television, where he discussed the current state of governance and security in the country.
During the interview, the elder statesman said the government must prioritise the protection of citizens and create an environment that allows people to thrive.
“The government should remove selfishness and do the job of protecting the citizens and providing an enabling environment for the citizens to thrive,” he said.
Galadima also suggested that authorities could consider hiring foreign mercenaries if necessary to address the country’s security and governance challenges.
“How the government can do the job is bring in mercenaries to sort out the country,” he said.
He then made the controversial statement that if mercenaries cannot be hired, the government should consider inviting Britain to take control again.
“If they can’t bring mercenaries, let them ask Britain to come back and colonize us again,”
“They can sanitize the country, put us in the rule of law, teach us democracy and good governance and ultimately, stop corruption.” he said.

In a recent statement, the content creator alleged that during their marriage she carried most of the financial responsibilities in the household. According to her, she rented a duplex that cost about N7.5 million per year and also invested heavily in setting up a fully equipped music studio for her then husband.
She explained that the studio, which reportedly cost millions to set up, was located downstairs in the duplex so he could conveniently work on his music. However, she claimed she later discovered that he had started selling some of the studio equipment without informing her.

“I used to feed him and his boys with my money. At the end of the day, I will still do my wifely duties, just because he doesn’t have much,” she said while recounting her experience.
