In a viral post, he accused EFCC operatives of confiscating phones, cars, and other valuables from suspected “Yahoo boys” without providing proper accountability for the items. According to him, officials often storm hotels and private residences, seizing luxury possessions that reportedly end up in the hands of relatives of EFCC officers instead of being documented as exhibits.
The man went further to question the integrity of the agency, even linking its chairman to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and contrasting the institution’s moral image with the agency’s alleged practices.
His comments reignited discussions on EFCC’s style of enforcement. Critics argued that the agency seems more focused on low-level cybercrime suspects than on powerful politicians, who often escape scrutiny. Some social media users claimed that political elites still use internet fraudsters to launder money, further complicating the fight against corruption.
