A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions on social media after questioning the growing trend of parents allowing their children to play with phones and tablets.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady identified as @Fayokunmii expressed disbelief at how many parents freely hand over their phones to kids as toys.
She wrote:
“Na just TV una say e normal, I even find it weird that kids are pressing your phone and you see it and you leave it with them. Maybe I never ready to born cos my phone no be toy o.”
Her statement quickly gained attention, sparking a heated discussion among parents and social media users.
Another user, @koyaasad45, agreed with her, writing:
“It’s very weird to me too. My children don’t play with my phone and I don’t let them have tablets as toys.”
A third user, @GsquaredG6, added humorously:
“When it comes to my phone, they know I don’t joke.”
While some users supported the stance, saying gadgets should not replace traditional playtime or parental attention, others argued that letting children use phones under supervision can be educational and convenient for busy parents.
