Newly ordained Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chris Orajiaka, who gave up two university degrees and a multi-million naira business to pursue his calling, celebrated his first Mass last Sunday in Lagos.
The Mass took place at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy in Lekki, where he also presented the maniturgium—a special linen cloth used to wipe the sacred chrism oil during ordination—to his mother.
Fr. Orajiaka was officially ordained on June 28, 2025, in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, USA.
In othr news….. A 38-year-old man, Victor Antwi, is on the run after allegedly setting multiple homes ablaze in the Ahodwo High Tension area of Kumasi, Ghana, following the end of his relationship with his 25-year-old girlfriend, Gladys Sarfowaah.
Reports indicate that Gladys ended the relationship due to persistent threats and abusive behavior, including incidents involving a firearm.
Seizing the opportunity while many men in the area were out watching a UEFA Champions League match, Victor reportedly entered Gladys’ residence and started a fire that quickly spread, engulfing nearby homes and leaving several families homeless.
Despite efforts by firefighters, the blaze caused significant destruction before it was finally brought under control.
The Ghana Police Service has launched a search for Victor and is urging anyone with relevant information to assist in his arrest.
