Nigerian Pilot Arinze Odira Endorses Arranged Marriage, Says He Will Guide His Daughter’s Choice
Nigerian pilot, Arinze Odira, has openly declared his support for arranged marriages, stressing that he will ensure his daughter ends up with a well-raised partner.
In a post shared on Wednesday, Odira explained that he views arranged marriages—where families introduce individuals with shared values—as a path to stronger unions.
He wrote:
“I am definitely a fan of arranged marriages. The kind where two people with similar values are introduced, and if love grows, they take it further. I believe marriages built on shared values last longer.”
Odira, who is also a father, emphasized his responsibility in shaping his daughter’s future.
“I am raising a beautiful daughter, and I will make sure she becomes an amazing human. I won’t sit back and watch her end up with someone badly behaved. If I know good, well-raised people, I will guide her toward that circle. We owe this to our kids especially in a world that’s not short of crazy people.”
His comments have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians debating whether arranged marriages remain relevant in today’s world or if young people should be left to choose their own partners independently.
