A Nigerian lady has gone viral after sharing her experience with a security guard who confessed his romantic feelings for her.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the lady identified as @Nigerianne explained that her security man sent her a long message professing his love, revealing that he only took the job to be close to her.
She said she immediately let him go, emphasizing the importance of maintaining personal safety and boundaries. “I’m very strict because men are mad. When my security man sent me a long paragraph saying he’s in love with me and only took the job to be close to me, we let him go immediately. When it reaches your turn, play with your safety,” she wrote.
She added that incidents like this make people cautious about being too familiar with blue-collar workers, writing, “Then they say we’re looking down on blue-collar jobs.”
In response, another user, @gohld_, shared a similar story, saying he once gave her bike man a phone out of kindness, but the man took it as an invitation to cross boundaries. She said he had to stop all communication afterward.
