Amarachi Attamah, a Nigerian lady, has announced her appointment as an Igbo language lecturer at two famous US colleges, Harvard and Yale.
Amarachi expressed her delight on Facebook, saying she is looking forward to teaching at both Harvard and Yale institutions during the forthcoming spring semester.
According to her, her role at Harvard University will be to contribute to the African Languages Program (ALP) in the Department of African and African American Studies.
The ALP at Harvard is regarded as one of the world’s largest language programs, having successfully transferred information in more than 45 African languages.
In addition to her job at Harvard, Amarachi will make an effect at Yale University as an Igbo language instructor in the Directed Independent Language Study (DILS) program, which is based in the Yale Center for Language Study.
In her words:
“I am excited to share the beginning of another incredible journey. This spring, I will be the Igbo language instructor in the African Languages Program (ALP), in the Department of African and African American Studies, Harvard University. The Harvard’s ALP is one of the largest language programs in the world having taught over 45 African languages.
“This spring, I am also the Igbo instructor in the Directed Independent Language Study (DILS) program at the Yale Center for Language Study, Yale University. Igbo instructor at two Ivy Leagues. Mụ bụ Amarachi. Chai!”
