Fans of Brazilian club Santos are still furious following their team’s humiliating 6-0 loss to Vasco da Gama on Sunday, August 17.

The heavy defeat, which stands as the worst of Neymar’s career, left the forward in tears as Santos’ relegation fears deepened.

Tension escalated further when the club’s ultras confronted Neymar and his teammates at the CT Rei Pelé training ground. Neymar stood at the front as the squad listened to angry supporters, who warned them: “What’s happening on the pitch is not enough.”

According to ESPN Brazil, players were even threatened with violence during the heated exchange. Neymar reportedly told the fans they are “trying to change things.”

Still shaken, Neymar spoke candidly after the match: “I’m embarrassed. I’m totally disappointed with our performance,” he said. “The fans have every right to protest, obviously without violence… But if they want to curse and insult us, they are in their right.”

He added: “It’s an extreme shame. I had never experienced something like this in my life. Unfortunately, it happened.” Addressing his tears, the Santos star admitted: “The tears were from anger, from everything. Unfortunately, I can’t help at all. Honestly, it was total crap — that’s the reality.”
