Nigerian actress and filmmaker Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has announced an upcoming film titled Mother’s Love, scheduled for release in March.
The award-winning actress unveiled the project on Wednesday by sharing a promotional video that introduced the cast. The montage featured Omotola in sparkling outfits, striking poses and showing off dance moves.
The release of the video comes shortly after Omotola made headlines for her comments on movie promotion, where she stated that dancing should not be a marketing requirement for filmmakers. She maintained that her responsibility lies in producing quality films and promoting them through professional and organised platforms, rather than depending on viral dance trends on social media.
“I’m sorry, but I won’t be dancing to market or promote my movie. It’s not professional. I’ve done the movie, now I just have to go around and promote it,” she said during the interview.
Her remarks echoed a recent conversation sparked by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, who noted that while dance-driven promotions can increase visibility, they may also place unnecessary pressure on actors and shift attention away from a film’s storyline.
