Musa Gude, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Uke/Karshi Constituency, has appointed 106 aides to assist in serving his constituents.
Speaking during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia, Gude explained that the appointments aim to enhance service delivery, improve living standards, and provide opportunities for youth and women in his constituency.
The aides, who will serve as liaisons between the community and Gude’s office, will help address local needs and relay concerns for legislative action. According to the lawmaker, they will receive varying monthly stipends ranging from N10,000 to N100,000.
Gude described the initiative as part of his commitment to inclusive leadership and socioeconomic empowerment, emphasizing that the appointments will also give the aides valuable experience in governance.
The announcement has drawn mixed reactions, with some praising the move as progressive and inclusive, while others questioned the necessity and sustainability of such a large team.
