Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime recently sparked reactions online after posting a video of herself marking the first birthday of her four dogs.
In the clip, the actress was seen inside her kitchen putting together a special meal to celebrate the pets as they turned one. At one point, she jokingly described them as “nepo babies” while serving them their birthday treats, a comment that amused many viewers.
The 34-year-old film star brought out pots and plates, prepared rice, and cooked it on a gas stove as part of the celebration.
She shared the video on her page and added a caption alongside the post.

Reacting to the video, GehGeh, who describes himself as a financial expert, voiced concerns about what he sees as a growing trend among some Nigerian women treating their pets like substitute children.
He also pointed to DJ Cuppy, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, recalling how she celebrated her dogs when they turned five.
“So na dog Nigerian women kon dey end up with as pikin? First it was DJ Cuppy and now this one.. shuur,” he shared his thoughts in a caption while reposting the video of Nancy Isime celebrating her dogs’ birthday.
