- Scarlet Gomez shut down a ₦200 million request from a social media user who claimed they were related because of a shared surname, humorously noting that the name came from her husband.

Nollywood actress Scarlet Gomez has humorously responded to a social media user who asked her for ₦200 million, claiming they were related because they share the same surname.
In a post on X, the user suggested that bearing the name “Gomez” meant they were family and possibly both from Lagos, before requesting the large sum to fund a business venture.
“We bear the same surname…. So we are somehow related… my sister… I need 200 million for my business,” the user wrote.
Replying with wit, Scarlet Gomez clarified that she only bears the surname through marriage and joked that the requester should look elsewhere for such financial help.
“Na from my husband hand you go collect that money 😂 that’s where I got the name from,” she replied.

In other news….ADC chieftain and socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has warned Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, against accepting a vice-presidential role in the 2027 general election.
In a video circulating on social media, Yesufu vowed to oppose any presidential ticket that features Obi as a running mate. She argued that the former Anambra State governor is the most qualified among potential contenders and should be the presidential flag bearer, not a deputy.
“I’m giving you people my word. If Peter Obi emerges as a running mate to anyone, I will work against that ticket,”
“In my little capacity, I will work against them even if I don’t support any other candidates. Why are we always asking the best to be the second?” she said.
