- Regina Daniels’ best friend, Ann, has been released after two nights in detention.
- Her case was adjourned to March 5, 2026, following theft allegations linked to Senator Ned Nwoko.

Ann, the close friend of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has regained her freedom after spending two nights in detention.
She was released on Wednesday evening after the court adjourned the case to March 5, 2026.
Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Sammy, confirmed her release via his Instagram story. Earlier, he had raised concerns over Ann being taken to court without access to her lawyer or family.
“Similar techniques. Not letting legal representative or family aware of the whereabouts. Not allowing anyone know the court, final stage prison. Case adjourned until March 5th,” he wrote.
Hours later, he announced her release, posting: “My T.E.D. Ann is out.”
Ann was reportedly arrested in Lagos on Monday and flown to Abuja in a private jet following a theft allegation filed by Regina Daniels’ estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The arrest came about two months after Regina Daniels allegedly separated from the senator over claims of domestic violence.
In other news… Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has joined other celebrities commenting on Nigeria’s 4–2 loss to Morocco in the AFCON semi-final.
Following the match, Verydarkman didn’t hold back in sharing his thoughts on players who, in his view, fell short of expectations. He singled out Samuel Chukwueze, accusing the winger of appearing unsure of his actions on the field. Despite Chukwueze’s experience in European football, Verydarkman argued that he failed to deliver in crucial moments, including the penalty shootout.
On the other hand, he commended Calvin Bassey for his solid performance, pointing out that the defender gave his all but was let down by the rest of the squad.
VDM admitted he tried to avoid cursing anyone while expressing his disappointment over Chukwueze’s display and the perceived waste of time and money he spent supporting the Super Eagles. In a video, he revealed that he traveled from Nigeria to the host nation to watch the match live, only to leave frustrated. He initially believed Chukwueze was carefully setting up his shots, not realizing the winger would ultimately underperform.
Verydarkman also criticised the referee, claiming the officiating was biased against Nigeria and that it was obvious how the referee’s decisions worked against the team.
This isn’t the first time VDM has publicly reacted to the Super Eagles’ matches. A few weeks ago, amid Victor Osimhen’s clash with teammate Ademola Lookman, he openly criticised Osimhen, warning him to maintain discipline on the field, emphasizing that teammates are not his children.
Following the semi-final defeat, some of Verydarkman’s fans blamed the referee, while others jokingly suggested that the presence of celebrities like him, who attended the match, may have brought bad luck to the team.
