A married Nigerian lady and popular TikTok user, @an_gel52, has caused a stir online after announcing she has dropped feminism and returned to her former lifestyle, admitting that embracing feminist ideas led to months of tension in her marriage.

The woman explained in a viral video that the fights with her husband began when she attempted to practice feminist beliefs she had learned from social media creators.

Explaining the conflict, she stated:

“I haven’t posted on this group because I have been fighting with my husband. And because of that, I didn’t want to sound like a hypocrite. I didn’t want to teach ‘A’ and then do ‘B’ at home.”

She specifically noted that her husband’s background clashed with the new ideas:

“I started following all these feminists on social media. I come say make I do small, you know, feminism for my house, and I forgot that my husband is a Benin man. It didn’t go that way. So, we have been fighting for months.”

After months of conflict, she decided to quit the movement, stating it did not align with her personality or marriage:
