Popular comedian and social activist Mr. Macaroni has taken a strong swipe at the Nigerian government over the escalating insecurity across the country, describing the administration as “useless and irresponsible” while urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down.
In a sharply worded post on X (formerly Twitter), he voiced deep frustration over the recent wave of violent incidents including the abduction of schoolchildren and the killing of a military general.
He wrote:
“This government is useless and irresponsible, feeding off the blood of innocent Nigerians. I honestly don’t understand children have been kidnapped, a general has been killed, and everyone is acting like it’s normal? Why should terrorists control any part of this country? In any civilized nation, Tinubu would resign!”
Mr. Macaroni, known for speaking out on national issues, accused the government of failing in its basic duty to protect lives. He also questioned why, despite repeated promises, certain regions remain under the grip of terror groups.
He further criticized President Tinubu’s earlier assurances to end insecurity, saying there has been little to show since he took office.
His comments have fueled widespread debate online, as many Nigerians echo similar sentiments about the deteriorating security situation.
As killings, kidnappings, and terrorist attacks continue to rise, citizens are growing increasingly frustrated and are demanding swift, decisive action from the country’s leadership.
