Spending, a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has addressed viral rumours claiming he is the biological father of Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba.
The rumours started spreading after a blogger posted a photo online suggesting a strong resemblance between Spending and the young boy. The post quickly stirred public reactions and reignited long-standing questions over Liam’s paternity a topic that has drawn attention since Mohbad’s passing in 2023.
Responding via his Instagram story, Spending shut down the rumours, describing them as false and damaging.
“I’ve been seeing several bloggers insinuating I’m Liam’s father. This is not a joke for real!! To set the record straight, I’m not his father and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y’all need to stop spreading these false narratives,” he wrote.
He also stated that he is willing to take a DNA test if needed, adding, “I’m happy to have a DNA done if required.”
