In an interview on Behind the Fame, Balogun reflected on her journey spanning more than five decades in the entertainment industry. She recounted how tensions at home often mirrored her experiences on set, noting that a particular glance from her husband would signal upcoming marital conflicts whenever she made errors during performances.

She shared, “Whenever I am acting and I make a mistake, my husband will look at me in a certain way, that means there will be a problem that night.”

Balogun also spoke candidly about her difficult upbringing and the obstacles she faced while pursuing a career in Yoruba theatre. She revealed that her father sometimes subjected her to physical punishment, and there were occasions when she went without food.

The actress explained that surviving these hardships required resilience and resourcefulness, including finding ways to feed herself during times of scarcity.
