A woman claiming to be the former wife of Mercy Johnson’s husband has taken to social media to allege that the Nollywood star knowingly became involved with a married man, while allegedly misleading the public about the true nature of their relationship.
In a video that has been widely shared online, the woman stated that Mercy Johnson was aware her husband was legally married at the time their relationship began. She added that she had personally contacted the actress to warn her, insisting that her marriage was still intact.
The woman further claimed that Mercy Johnson ignored her warnings and continued the relationship, accusing the actress of presenting a false narrative to the public about her marital situation.
She maintained that no divorce ever took place between her and the man and noted that she was never asked to return her bride price a customary practice often considered essential for formally ending a traditional marriage. She also stated that the children linked to the man were from her union with him, not from any subsequent relationship.
Addressing Prince Okojie’s alleged denial of his children, she described it as hurtful and unreasonable, emphasizing that she and her children were his first family. She urged Mercy Johnson to respond publicly and refute her claims.
“For a man to deny his own children and first family, does that make sense? Those children came first before anything else,” she said.
These allegations come amid ongoing online controversies involving Mercy Johnson, which include reports that actress Angela Okorie was arrested following a petition reportedly filed by Johnson in a cybercrime-related matter.
