A Nigerian man has gone viral after making an unusual and grand gesture of gratitude bringing a live cow to church as a thanksgiving offering.
The incident was captured in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), reportedly posted by the church’s prophetess. In the video, the man is seen standing at the altar alongside a few others, including the individual holding the cow, as they kneel in prayer while the prophetess blesses them.
The post was captioned:
“My son came to the altar to appreciate God for doing wonders in his family. You will receive your own testimony this week in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.”
The gesture quickly caught the attention of social media users, who flooded the comment section with a mix of admiration, curiosity, and humorous reactions. Some praised the man’s deep sense of gratitude, while others expressed surprise at the choice of thanksgiving gift.
As unusual as it may seem, the offering of livestock is not unheard of in some African churches, especially as a symbolic gesture of abundant thanksgiving or traditional sacrifice.
The donor’s identity has yet to be disclosed, but his bold show of appreciation has certainly stirred conversation online and may have inspired others to prepare for their own thanksgiving in unique ways.
