A Nigerian man has asserted that Peter Obi has little to no chance of securing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket for the 2027 elections if Atiku Abubakar remains in the party.
The claim was made in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @dammiedammie35.
While discussing possible presidential candidates for the ADC, the man argued that Obi’s chances are significantly weakened by Atiku’s strong financial backing.
“Peter Obi will not get that ticket, let’s be honest. As long as Atiku is there, no one can get that ticket,” he said in the video. “That’s why you see they’ve started saying ‘Atiku, step down,’ ‘Atiku, be the father,’ because they know that as long as that man is standing…”
He added, “If coalition is brought up, at the end, they’ll still hold primaries. Dollar flies. If Atiku is there, he’ll win. Peter Obi wouldn’t spend that much, so as long as Atiku is there, Peter Obi will not get that ticket.”
