A 28-year-old man Shola Oguntuase, who allegedly raped a fourteen-year-old girl was on Tuesday, remanded at the Correctional Centre, Ado-Ekiti by a Chief Magistrate.
The defendant, with no fixed address, is standing trial on a count charge of rape.
The prosecutor, Insp Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 7 in Ire-Ekiti.
Akinwale said the defendant, went to the house of the victim and raped her.
He said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The plea of the defendant was not taken, however, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olanike Adegoke, consequently adjourned the case until Aug. 3 for mentiona.
