Nollywood actress Damilola Oni has revealed the extent of the online harassment she endures, sharing that male followers often bombard her with explicit messages and unsolicited images.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Oni explained that these experiences have become part of her daily life, particularly on social media, where her body often attracts unwelcome attention.
“Every morning when I check Instagram, there are men sending explicit pictures, claiming, ‘I am everything you need, baby,’” she explained. “My inbox is full of messages, even from older men. Some admit to watching me on TV and using that for self-gratification,” she added.
She noted that some individuals make inappropriate confessions about how they interact with her content, describing the situation as highly disturbing.
Aside from online harassment, Oni also discussed her personal life and the challenges she faces in the entertainment industry. She confirmed that she is single and observed that in Nollywood, visibility often outweighs talent.
“Often, the loudest personalities succeed more than the truly talented. You have to stand out to remain relevant,” she said.
Oni also shared a painful incident on a film set, where she lost a lead role after a co-star allegedly refused to work with her.
“I waited on set for more than eight hours, only to be told someone refused to work with me,” she recalled.
The producer later offered her a smaller part, which she accepted despite feeling disappointed.
“I won’t let anyone push me out of this industry. Nobody can make me leave,” she asserted.
