Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has shared why she decided to host her Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours in Lagos, Nigeria, instead of the United Kingdom.
Speaking in a chat with influencer Egungun during her Tacha Beauty Festival, the former Big Brother Naija star said her decision was driven by a strong desire to promote Nigeria’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
According to her, the goal was not just to break a global record but also to showcase the talent, vibrancy, and potential within Nigeria’s beauty industry.
“London won’t give me the vibes I want. I had sponsorship offers from international brands and we initially planned to do it in London. But it always makes sense to carry your country along,” Tacha said.
The 24-hour record attempt started on Saturday night in Lagos, with Tacha aiming to complete 150 makeovers within the timeframe.
By Sunday morning, she had already completed 115 makeovers in 12 hours, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 113 makeovers completed in 24 hours.
The event is part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day celebration running from October 10 to 12, highlighting beauty, culture, and resilience within Nigeria’s growing creative industry.
