Two days after being kidnapped by her husband’s assassins, Mrs. Grace Maraya, the wife of the martyred pastor of Second Evangelical Church Winning All, Damakasuwa in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been liberated.
Mr. Ishaku Chinge, an elder in the church, verified her release to PUNCH Online on Monday.
He stated that on Sunday night, a ransom of N350,000 was paid to ensure her release.
He said that although the kidnappers had originally sought N3 million, they eventually agreed to accept N350,000 in exchange for her release.
According to The PUNCH, unidentified gunmen broke into the Damakasuwa clergyman’s home early on Friday morning, killing Rev. Amako Maraya, the church pastor, and kidnapping Grace, his wife.
“Mrs Grace was released to us on Sunday night, she is presently taking medication in one of the hospitals, ” Chinge disclosed.
