- The woman involved in the viral ₦24m proposal drama has denied claims that her boyfriend bought her the car.
- She said the vehicle was a birthday gift from her father and that the engagement was not planned.

The woman at the centre of the trending proposal drama involving a ₦24 million car has finally spoken out, offering her side of the story after days of online criticism and body shaming.
The controversy began when her boyfriend, identified as Videocard, allegedly took back a luxury car after she rejected his public proposal. The incident quickly went viral, sparking heated debates across social media.
In a new video, the lady clarified key details, insisting that the narrative circulating online is not entirely accurate.
“Videocard is my boyfriend, yes. He proposed to me, yes. But he never got me a car. That car is a gift from my dad for my birthday. I was the one that came up with the plan to make it look like my boyfriend got me a car. That was my idea,” she said.
According to her, the couple had originally planned a surprise around the car gift, but not an engagement. She explained that she was shocked when he unexpectedly introduced a ring into the moment.
“We never planned for engagement. He just switched it. Yes, I love him, but I can’t accept a ring that way. How do you expect me to accept a ring using my dad’s car?” she added.
Her explanation has generated mixed reactions online. While some users defended her decision, others questioned the idea of staging the car gift in the first place.
One social media user wrote, “Using your dad’s gift for a proposal? No wonder she said no😬.” Another commented, “Wonder shall never end on social media.”
