- A woman identified as AceTyra took to social media to lament after her boyfriend canceled their dinner date, saying he was tired, only to stay up watching Champions League highlights.
- While some users advised women not to compete with football, she insisted that understanding a man’s passion for the sport should not mean accepting neglect in a relationship.

A social media user identified as AceTyra has sparked conversations online after narrating how her boyfriend canceled their dinner date, claiming he was “tired,” only to later stay up watching Champions League highlights.
Sharing her frustration on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:
“My guy canceled a dinner date because he was ‘tired,’ but stayed up all night watching Champions League highlights. Y’all see the problem?”
Her post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions. Another user, Kim_winifred, weighed in, advising women to stop competing with football. According to her, men will always choose football over everything else, a reality she claimed to have accepted long ago.
However, AceTyra countered that point, stressing that “understanding isn’t the same as accepting neglect.”

In other news…..A Nigerian man, Irogbum Godspower, has condemned the growing practice of placing elderly parents in old people’s homes.
In a Facebook post, he noted that parents dedicate most of their lives to raising their children, only for some of those children to later abandon them in retirement facilities.
“Is this the reward of parenthood?” he asked.
Godspower further questioned how Nigerian society has shifted from traditional values of family care to embracing old people’s homes.
“At what point did Nigerians lose their values that they now fancy taking their parents to old people’s homes?” he wrote.
His remarks have stirred widespread debate online. While many social media users agreed with his stance, others urged him not to judge, arguing that circumstances differ from one family to another.
