Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has reacted to reports of the death of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who allegedly passed away in London at the age of 82.
Taking to her Facebook page, Olunloyo shared a deeply personal and controversial message, expressing hope that Buhari and her late father who was also active in the political scene during Buhari’s early years would finally meet “in hell.”
She also referenced the journalists executed during Buhari’s military regime and the individuals allegedly unjustly imprisoned, stating that she hoped they would now be remembered and, if alive, freed.
“I hope those he locked up will now be released,” she wrote, adding, “Let the journalists he executed continue to rest in peace.”
Olunloyo went further to question Buhari’s reported age at death. According to her, Buhari may have been older than 82, suggesting he was 48 years old in 1983 when he took over from President Shehu Shagari making him, in her words, closer to 89.
“The TWEET
BREAKING.
Finally, Buhari and my father, Olunloyo, meet for the FIRST TIME at the Gates of Hell.
Same year, 2025
My father never met Buhari despite being in the same political party, the APC, and ending my dad’s democracy in 1983. Buhari dying on Wole Soyinka’s birthday is a sign of FREEDOM
I hope Ayisha remarries and everyone he locked up is released, and all the journalists he executed during his military reign continue to rest in peace.
I hope his family can now tell the world he was 89 and not 82 because he was 48, the same age as my dad in 1983 when he took over Shagari’s democracy. Only you? He was the leader of Nigeria when I was 19, 51, and 55.
SUN RE OOO BOO HARRY”.
