Wednesday, October 4, has been set aside as a public holiday by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf in honor of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon him.
This was said in a statement released on Wednesday in Kano by Malam Baba Dantiye, the state’s commissioner for internal affairs and information.
According to Dantiye, the governor advised the populace to take advantage of the occasion to consider the great Prophet’s teachings and apply them to their daily lives.
He also advised the populace to pray fervently for peace and prosperity to rule throughout Nigeria and the state in particular.
“We pray to Allah to see us through this tough period and bless us with bumper harvest in this rainy season and the coming dry farming season, ” he said.
