The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Kano State has been affected by a fire outbreak.
The incident which happened around 9:30 am, at the Data Processing Centre of the INEC office, burnt laptop computers, desktops and the entire building.
It was reported that the fire was controlled by both the Federal and Kano state fire services.
“They arrived about 20 minutes after the fire outbreak.”
“Even though the delay has added to the fire to burn almost all the building but they were able to control the situation.”
The staff of the commission disclosed that the fire incident started following the fluctuations of electricity power voltage which abruptly resulted in the blasting of some air conditioners at the centre.
“In the data centre are laptops, batteries and other related gadgets for data processing activities,” one of them said.
