Just In: CJN Tanko Tests Positive for COVID-19.
Justice Tanko Muhammad, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), has contracted the COVID-19 virus.
This was confirmed on Tuesday in Abuja by a member of the Supreme Court, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa.
Saulawa made the confirmation at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) in Abuja, The Nation reports.
It is understood that CJN Muhammad is at the moment in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates where he is receiving treatment.
Recall following the absence of the CJN at the swearing-in of 72 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria on Monday, there had been concerns about the whereabouts and health status of the CJN.
